How to become Certified Public Accountant in Zimbabwe : CPA(Z)

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Zimbabwe abbreviated as ICPAZ was incorporated as a Company in 1984 as the Zimbabwe Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (ZIPFA) and subsequently changed its name in May 2007 to its current name. ICPAZ is independent of Government control and, like all other accounting bodies in Zimbabwe, is a member of the local Public Accountants and Auditors Board which oversees all accounting and auditing bodies in the country. The Institute is also a member of the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA). PAAB and its member bodies adopt IFAC Code of Ethics and ICPAZ, therefore has no direct responsibility for establishing its own code of ethics. ICPAZ is based in Zimbabwe. The official language of Zimbabwe is English. ICPAZ examinations are conducted in the English language. ICPAZ is one of the constituent bodies of the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB). PAAB was founded by an Act of Parliament, Act 13/1995, Chapter 27:12; PAAB is the only setter of Accounting and Auditing Standards in Zimbabwe and it is also the only authority that issues practising rights.
